Biography
Julia Karambelas is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Washington. She began her nursing career in inpatient psychiatry, an experience that shaped her commitment to addressing gaps in mental health care and serving diverse patient populations. With over eight years of experience across multiple settings, including inpatient psychiatry, substance use treatment, geriatrics, and outpatient care, Julia brings a thoughtful and integrative approach to treatment. She has specialized research and clinical experience working with neurodivergent adults, focusing on supporting individuals through life transitions and building insight and a deeper understanding of themselves.
Julia integrates evidence-based modalities, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), within a broader whole-person framework. Medication and treatment are approached through a lens of personalization, collaboration, and sustainability, centered on each individual’s goals. Her approach to care is holistic, grounded in empathy and curiosity. She believes mental health is deeply connected to the whole person—mind, body, and lived experience—and works collaboratively with patients to help them feel more grounded, understood, and confident in their care.
In addition to her clinical work, Julia is a certified yoga instructor. She studied Kundalini yoga in Mexico and has taught internationally, experiences that further inform her integrative, mind-body approach to care.
