Addiction Counseling
At Neuro Wellness Spa, we see addiction recovery as a complex and personal journey. Our addiction counseling professionals help you build lasting recovery by addressing not just the addiction itself, but the underlying causes and conditions that sustain it.
Our treatment approach
The journey through addiction is rarely straightforward. You may find yourself caught in cycles that feel impossible to break, even as you recognize their impact on your health, relationships, and sense of self. If you’re questioning your relationship with substances or behaviors, you’ve already taken an important first step by recognizing that something needs to change.
Recovery works best when treatment fits your specific needs. At Neuro Wellness Spa, we start with a thorough assessment that looks at your relationship with addiction, any mental health concerns, past treatment experiences, personal strengths, and support systems.
This evaluation helps us create a personalized treatment plan that might include the following modalities.
CBT for addiction
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) helps you understand how your thoughts affect your emotions and behaviors. You’ll learn to spot and change thinking patterns that feed your addiction. Through practical exercises, you’ll recognize thoughts that lead to cravings, develop more balanced perspectives, and learn healthier and more adaptable coping skills.
Motivational interviewing
This approach helps strengthen your own reasons for change by exploring mixed feelings and connecting with your personal values. Rather than telling you what to do, your therapist helps you build confidence in your ability to make meaningful changes.
Family systems/dynamics
Addiction affects your whole family, not just you. Family systems therapy looks at how your family relationships might play a role in addiction and recovery. We help identify family patterns, unspoken rules, and communication styles that might unintentionally keep addiction going. By working together with family members, we build healthier relationships that support your recovery. This approach helps improve communication and helps loved ones understand how they can be part of the healing process without blame or guilt.
Psychoeducation
Understanding the nature of addiction empowers your recovery journey. Psychoeducation gives you clear information about how addiction affects your brain, behaviors, and relationships. You’ll learn why substances or behaviors become addictive, how your specific patterns developed, and what makes recovery strategies work. This knowledge helps replace myths with facts and reduces self-blame while increasing your confidence in the recovery process. When you understand what’s happening in your mind and body, you feel more confident about making positive changes. Many people find that simply understanding the “why” behind their addiction is a powerful first step toward healing.
Mindfulness-based relapse prevention
This approach combines proven relapse prevention strategies with mindfulness practices. It helps you become more aware of triggering thoughts and sensations while creating space between urges and actions. These skills are especially helpful when transitioning from treatment back to everyday life.
Psychiatry and medication management
Sometimes, addiction counseling alone is not enough to lay the foundation for successful recovery. Our psychiatry team works closely with you and your therapist to determine if medications might benefit your recovery journey. We take a collaborative approach, discussing potential benefits, side effects, and expectations during treatment.
Detox and residential treatment
Detox and residential addiction treatment provide around-the-clock care when you’re going through a difficult crisis or experiencing overwhelming symptoms. This supportive environment offers stability and structured healing activities in a supportive setting when you need extra help. Our clinical team will conduct a comprehensive assessment to determine if inpatient care at our sister program, Clear Behavioral Health, is a more appropriate place to start your recovery journey based on your substance use history.
Outpatient addiction treatment
Outpatient addiction treatment programs allow you to receive support while maintaining daily responsibilities, which include individual & group therapy, case management, and mindfulness practices. If individual therapy or psychiatric medications are not providing you with the support and results you need, our team of therapists and psychiatrists will recommend a more structured outpatient program with our compassionate care team at Clear Behavioral Health.
Our flexible approach
We understand that healing doesn’t follow a straight line. Your needs might change as you progress, and our approach changes with you. You might start with more support and gradually need less as you feel better. This flexible approach ensures you always have the right amount of care—enough to make a real difference in your life while helping you build independence and confidence in your recovery.
