Psychiatry is the backbone of Neuro Wellness Spa, founded by Dr. Martha Koo, M.D. At each Neuro Wellness Spa location there are one or more psychiatrists on site to provide patients comprehensive, integrative, state-of-the-art treatment.

Why Seek Psychiatric Help?

The American Psychiatric Association defines a psychiatrist as “a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illnesses, including substance use disorders.” In addition to mental health, psychiatrists also evaluate physical symptoms that may be related to one’s mental health or may be caused by another contributing medical illness.

Individuals seek the help of a psychiatrist for many reasons. Some people experience the rapid onset of symptoms such as panic attacks, thoughts of suicide, impulsivity and anger while others may suffer sustained periods of sadness, lack of motivation, nervousness, fatigue, poor functioning and pain. Distorted perceptions of daily life and/or feelings of helplessness and hopelessness are common. More than twenty million adults in the U.S. experience a substance use disorder and more than half also have a co-occurring mental disorder. Regardless of the reason for seeking psychiatric assistance, sooner is always better than later.

Psychiatric Consultation

After a comprehensive consultation, the psychiatrists at Neuro Wellness Spa offer a variety of treatment interventions for individualized health care, including medication, transcranial magnetic stimulation, IV Ketamine, photobiomodulation, IV nutrition and referrals for cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), hypnotherapy, psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis. Additionally, we are always researching cutting edge, innovative modalities to bring our patients the most up to date proven strategies available for remission, healing, and wellness.
